Katarn's blade should have ended her life, but instead she'd been found on the dirt of Ruusan, by Luke Skywalker of all people. Spirited away, tended to, then put into carbon freeze until such time as a trial could be held. A trial, like she was some sort of petty criminal.
But then something had gone wrong, hadn't it? Skywalker's academy had fallen, the man himself had fled, and it was only scavengers picking through the wreckage looking for things to sell that had found her. Sold off to some crime boss like a trinket, he had made the mistake of drunkenly thawing her out one night, the last mistake he would ever make.
From there, though...what was there? Her world, her master was gone. The First Order was repugnant, a pantomime of the Empire. And then Palpatine had revealed himself again - and oh how she had run. She ran far, and hid, because his was the sort of power that burned everything around it and she had no desire to be near it.
Then something had happened, and the all-pervading aura of the Sith had...vanished. She didn't know what had transpired. She didn't care to. But at least now she could hide, and think. Plan, perhaps. She'd tried to cover her tracks, but a lone woman with a lightsaber was not the easiest thing to conceal.
But perhaps the wilds of Dantooine were enough. Amidst the rolling grasslands she could vanish, on a planet untroubled now by the passage of centuries. Dantooine was old, forgotten. She felt like she could relate, a relic from a bygone age. She had nestled into the remains of an old, forgotten Jedi temple, contenting herself with the books she found there.
Perhaps here she could hide forever.

Answer the following questions in no less than 300 words but no greater than 1000 words put together...
Character's background (their past and present): Sariss was raised - and abused and assaulted repeatedly - by her father, the Dark Jedi Lord Cronus. Raised from birth in the dark side, without love and with every sort of degredation, Sariss knew only the force, the darkness, and the Empire. Coming under the tutelage of Jerec, who completed her training in the force, and in the process gained a loyal right hand. Jerec's goal was to create a new Dark Jedi Order, and after the first death of the Emperor, he sought power. Sariss not only was his strong right hand, but also recruited more force adepts to his cause. Most importantly, she seduced a rich man, then seduced his force-powerful son, Yun. Then, she persuaded the son to murder the father - and gained a disciple of her own.
Jerec's ultimate quest was the Valley of the Jedi - unlimited power in the Force. Sariss pursued this goal to the end, ultimately being killed by Kyle Katarn after Yun intervened to prevent Sariss from killing a helpless Katarn - and Sariss executed her apprentice, showing the only true remorse and shock in her life.
Character's personality: Sariss is unusual for a dark jedi, in that her power comes not from a rage, but from a cold, permanent anger. She is merciless, but precise. Her personality is less a warhammer and more of a stiletto. She is loyal to Jerec without question - unusual for a Dark Jedi. She is capable of amusement, but rarely expresses it. Overall, Sariss is controlled, authoritative and thoroughly wrapped in the dark.
Her only truly 'human' emotions came out in relation to Yun. Though she had seduced him - literally and metaphorically - to the dark side, she functioned a sort of mentor-mother, and genuinely seemed to care about his well-being, watching over him like a mother hen. Right up until she killed him. The killing itself was an instinct reaction, and shocked her. She had little time to regret it, however, meeting Katarn's killing stroke shortly thereafter. But somewhere, twisted though it is, there is humanity there still.
Granted, it was shown only to one person and in dark ways - but it was still there, somewhere. Yet, still, in summation, her life was dominated by the dark side, and her personality was shaped to it, hammered into a dark steel. The result remains severe - but in her second life in ten_fwd, it will come with the equally severe confusion of existing past her own end.
Character's skills/abilities/powers: The full range of force powers available to all force users, plus dark side attack powers and manipulative abilities. (I will massively curtail the latter)
